Traction Devices

Traction is an orthopedic term to describe the set of mechanisms involved to straighten broken bones or to relieve spinal pressure and to treat other parts of the skeletal system. This act of applying a mild stretch with constant pressure to muscles and ligaments can provide much-needed pain relief. 'Traction’ refers to skin traction and skeletal traction. The correct traction instrument will help patients regain their normal length and to realign affected bones. Additionally it is used to lessen or to eliminate painful muscle spasms; relieve pressure on nerves; prevent, reduce or eliminate skeletal deformities or other muscular issues.
